Mathieu Carrier
Mathieu Carrier is an artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Université Laval in Quebec City. He currently resides in Lévis, his hometown.
When he creates, composition is at the heart of his concerns. His work, which combines acrylic and Chinese ink, is the result of an exploration of rhythm, harmony, and the unexpected, much like a jazz musician composing a piece. For him, art must be a game between the artist and the viewer. For this purpose, his work has a playful, abstract style and always floats in a gray area between voluntary and involuntary gestures.
Mathieu’s paintings have been exhibited in various locations across Quebec, as well as in Barcelona and Paris, where he received the Prize for Originality (2nd place) at the Art Show Paris XIII.
